Ms. Shelia Wilson named M.C. Perry High School assistant principal
DoDEA Pacific East District Superintendent Dr. Jackie Ferguson is pleased to announce the selection of Ms. Shelia Wilson as assistant principal at M.C. Perry High School, located at MCAS Iwakuni, Japan.
Ms. Wilson brings more than 22 years of experience in education to M.C. Perry High School. She began her career as a Special Education ELA Resource teacher in Cumberland County Schools, North Carolina. Her experience also includes serving as principal at New Life Christian Academy in Fayetteville, North Carolina, an Exceptional Children’s Case Manager with Cumberland County Schools and a Special Education Resource teacher for DoDEA at Scott Middle School in Fort Knox, Kentucky and most recently at Albritton Middle School, Fort Liberty, North Carolina.
“My passion for nurturing every student’s potential is deeply rooted in my belief that all children can excel; we just have to reach them and unlock their potential,” Ms. Wilson said. “I am a strong advocate for reaching all students and challenging them to be their very best by building and maintaining strong, positive relationships.”
Ms. Wilson earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland University College, Maryland; K-12 LD teaching certification, Fayetteville State University, North Carolina; master’s degree in Educational Leadership, University of Phoenix, Arizona; as well as principal licensure, North Carolina.
She believes in a collaborative and supportive learning environment that not only encourages faculty and staff, but also engages parents. Committed to lifelong learning, she is currently pursuing an Educational Doctorate in Educational Leadership. Beyond professional endeavors she enjoys writing and running.
